VRC Flags Scullers Head 2007

The 54th Scullers Head

10-00am, December 1st 2007

A processional race for single sculls over the 4.25 mile championship course from Mortlake to Putney. First sculled in 1954, this year's race will involve almost 500 Scullers attracting entries from all over the United Kingdom and the world, with standards ranging from internationals to novices.

2007 Race

The provisional 2007 results are now available.

Please note that these results have been finalised.

Penalties

Several scullers received penalties. We do not reveal the extent of the penalty applied in these instances but we have indicated on the results page what the penalty was for.

In keeping with the other Thames and Tideway events we are following up the legislation that mandates all boats to have visible boat identification. All penalties were awarded where multiples umpires' reports were received - if you feel your boat was unfairly penalised, perhaps you might consider the rules on using contrasting colouring, many IDs were spotted as being black type on a dark hull.

Prizes

In order to add a little spice to the race, we've decided that a small prize will be awarded to the fastest woman and the fastest man. In addition to the fine pots we award, a cheque for £250 will be given to the two fastest scullers of their genders.
