Henley News
In an early race on Thursday, Vesta's A eight lost it's second round race to one of the favourites in the event, Agecroft, going down by 2 lengths.
Mixed Wednesday Fortunes
Henley Regatta started in the best possible way - with Vesta's A crew bringing home a solid 2 length win over Lea RC in the first round of the Thames Cup. Later in the day less good news as the B crew went down fighting to near neighbours London's D crew.
Richmond Regatta Results
Well done to Kate Wright who won a pot at Richmond in the WS3 1x. Kate was on the outside and it was neck and neck coming into the finish bend; Kate hung on and won on the last stroke of the race.
Two eights in Henley Royal Regatta
The men's squad succeeded in qualifying two eights in the Thames Cup at Henley Royal Regatta 2008. Vesta A were prequalified after strong performances at Met, Reading and Marlow. Vesta B put in a gutsy row in the time trials at Henley on Friday to claim a much deserved place on the stake boats on Wednesday. The qualifying races were held in tricky windy conditions, with a head wind hitting the latter crews particularly hard, so well done there boys. Also well done to Karl Henderson for coaching them to this success and a special mention to Alex Brown for getting his first Henley row ten years after his first attempt.
On Wednesday Vesta A will race Lea RC at 2.30pm and Vesta B will race London D at 5.30pm. Good luck guys.
